We have seen many, many effect nail pigments/powders in these past years: chrome mirror, chameleon, holo, and also, unicorn/aurora. So I wasn’t really surprised when holo unicorn/aurora pigments appeared too (to be honest, I was waiting for them). :) Today I’ll show you this BX03 unicorn/aurora holo powder* [link] that I got from Born Pretty Store to review. :)
A szokásos csomagolásban érkezik a 0.2g pigment – persze lehet nagyobb kiszerelésben is venni. A BPS oldalán szereplő képről azt hittem, olyan lesz a színe, mint az eredeti unikornis/aurora pigmenté (hogy fehér felett nagyon szép kékes-lilás) de csak fakó pasztell lila fehér fölött… ami azért csöppet illúzióromboló (*nem ilyen volt a képen*). Viszont: szépen holózik, és arany fénye van, így sötétebb színeken gyönyörűen mutat! Nekem különösen kéken és lilán tetszik, így a szokásos fehér, fekete alapszíntől eltérően ma egy középlila alapszínen láthatjátok a körmeimen. ;)

The 0.2g unicorn holo pigment powder comes in the usual packagin – of course. you can buy it in different volumes. Based on the pictures I saw on bornprettystore.com, I thought the color would be like the original unicorn/aurora powder – meaning that it has a really pretty purple/blue color shift over white. But this one doesn’t… it’s a really muted, almost grayish purple. I was a bit disappointed, I wasn’t expecting that. :( That being said, it has a really nice holo payoff, plus some gold sheen to it, which looks gorgeous over dark colors! I especially like it over blue and purple, so now I skipped the usual white or black base color, and I applied it over a medium purple color on my nails. ;)

FONTOS: Ha körömlakkal használjátok a pigmentet, mindenképpen vízbázisú fedőlakkot (pl. essence metal shock fedőlakk, kapható a DM, Rossmann, Müller üzletekben) tegyetek rá, mert a sima fedőlakk hatására eltűnik a krómos hatás! Géllakkal fixmentes géllakkal működik legjobban a pigment.

I also tried it on swatchsticks with different bases. I think it looks the best when applied over gel polish, it's just not really smooth with a nail polish base, even with a waterbased topcoat... With the gel polish I put it on a no-wipe base, then topped it off with a coat of no-wipe top gel.
IMPORTANT: If you're using this pigment with nail polish as a base, you have to use a waterbased topcoat to preserve this mirror-like finish. Regular top coat or clear coat ruins the effect. If you're using it with gel polish, a no-wipe gel polish or gel top coat is best as a base and top as well.

A promóciós képeken fehér alapon is nagyon lilás színű, de a valóságban csak igen halványan, még 2 rétegben is. :( Persze így is szép, olyan gyöngyházas hatású, csak nem ezt vártam.
On the promotional photos the pigment looks really pretty purple over a white base - however, it's not, not even in 2 coats. :( I mean it's still pretty, looks like a prarl finish to me, but I expected it to be much more purple...

És íme itt a körmeimen, lila alapon. Jelen esetben gél fedőlakkal, így könnyebb volt vele dolgozni. Két réteget felkentem a lila körömlakkból, száradás után felkentem rá a fixmentes gél fedőt, lámpában köttettem, beledolgoztam a pigmentet a felületébe, lesöpörtem a felesleget, kentem rá egy réteget ugyanabból a gél fedőlakkból és újra köttettem. És kész. :)
And here it is, on my nails. :) I applied 2 coats of my purple nail polish, I let it dry, then when it was completely dry I applied a coat of my no-wipe gel topcoat, cured it in my lamp, burnished the powder into the layer, brushed off the excess powder, applied another coat of gel topcoat and cured it, again. And it's done. :)
